FIRE ALARM SYSTEM DESIGN & INSTALLATION

These are two fully interactive seminars for those that want to gain valuable insight into the changes in the Standards that are going to impact design criteria, specifications, sequence of operation, and installation requirements for fire alarm systems to achieve compliance with NBC 2020.  We’ll cover conventional and addressable systems, both the required and recommended design documentation, Verification of Fire Alarm Systems (conventional and addressable systems), audibility and intelligibility testing, as well as testing of large area networks, interconnection of sprinkler systems, extinguishment systems, Emergency Voice Communication (EVC) systems, Command and Control Facility (CACF), smoke and elevator control.  We’ll also introduce you to Canada’s newest Installation Standard, CAN/ULC 573:2017.

The course will explore essential elements of the Canadian Electrical Code CSA C22.1-12 Part 1 Sections 10 and 32, CSA B44, the Vancouver Building Bylaw 2019 (NBC 2015), CAN/ULC 537:2019, Bulletin 2000-021-BU/EL, CAN/ULC524:2019, CAN/ULC-S561-13, and CAN/ULC-S1001-11-REV2.

An operational Mircom FX-2000 fully addressable fire alarm control and field devices will be featured to demonstrate Verification and Commissioning requirements!

A work-book will be provided with additional  hand-out materials.

Fire Alarm Design and Installation is
presented in two separate four hour modules
(venue to be determined based on attendance levels)
on consecutive days at your choice of times.
